Agis Pyrlis was born in Greece. From a very young age, his imagination was captured by the visuals of fantasy and adventure films, especially those made at Pinewood, Shepperton and Elstree studios in the UK. Growing up his cinematic tastes expanded considerably. Uninspired by the choices for film education in his home country, his artistic inclinations eventually led him to study Architecture. In 2012 he decided to finally move to the UK in order to pursue his lifelong dream, by combining his solid design foundation with his passion for film. He applied and was accepted into the MA in Production Design course at the National Film and Television School. There he studied how to apply and adapt his design skills to the requirements of the screen. Since completing his studies in 2014, he has been working in feature film art departments of various sizes and hopes to carry on the grand British film design tradition that made him excited about films in the first place.
